Affordable Moquette available in Europe and the UK for trimming, and re-trimming of driver and passenger seats and interiors of buses, mini-buses, coaches, taxis, vans, horse-transporters and trains.

Following market research across the bus and coach industry in the UK and Europe, it has become evident that the demand for a moquette portal, pool or exchange is greater than had been anticipated, with over 76 companies expressing more than a keen interest.
It has therefore been decided to develop a high class technical environment which can be self-managed by the site users.
We expect to launch this facility in 2010.

What is Moquette?
Moquette is type of fabric with a thick, dense pile. It is a particularly versatile and hard wearing material, predominantly wool with a small percentage of nylon in the pile and a backing of cotton or viscose rayon. In recent times, lighter Moquette fabrics have become available with blends of polyester/wool or 100% polyester pile yarns. Moquette is renowned for its attractive, hard wearing, durable, and fire resistant qualities, hence it is commonly used for upholstery and interior lining in passenget transport.

Moquette originated in France where it was woven by hand. The standard width was a Flemish ell of 27 inches. There were two finishes: moquette velouté which had a velvet cut pile like English Wilton, and moquette bouclé which had an uncut loop pile like Brussels carpet. It is still woven in Yorkshire using traditional techniques in standard widths of 50 and 60 inches, 127 and 150cm.
